Former First Class Fast Bowler playing over 14 years professionally, including playing for Australia. I enjoy coaching the art of swing bowling, including reverse swing, and am looking forward to helping develop your bowling action to take more wickets.
Originally from South Australia I debuted for the Redbacks in 2008 and went on to play a number of seasons before moving north to continue developing my trade in Queensland. I toured with Australia to England, New Zealand and to India where I earned my Baggy Green, No.416. Now, I’m back in Adelaide and on the Elite Pathway as an umpire. I look forward to offering what I have learnt along the way to others to perhaps make their journey to the professional game a little easier. My skill as a player is in swing bowling (wrist position, seam control), you have to be able to know what works for you as an individual and I had great success in building my ability to swing the ball. I know that I can help others that are looking to define themselves in their bowling roles or to those who are looking to further develop their game. There is a lot more to cricket than just skills, I'll be able to improve your understanding of how to set a batsmen up to get their wicket and more advanced tactics of the game that other coaches might not fully cater to. My coaching philosophy is that players get the most value from watching their favourite players on TV, practicing a lot at home and seeing themselves in action with footage. As parents our goal is to foster a love for the game. I recommend parents of junior players participate in the session as I believe you have an important role, my aim is to help parents (and players) to become their own best coaches and ultimately make myself redundant. You should aim for a minimum of 2 sessions with the first session at least 45mins. The first session is a discovery session, involving taking footage and making a plan aligned with the player’s goals. Subsequent sessions will have more focus on skill/technique development. Please note: my availability is not always consistent and I may be able to fit other times as hoc. Please message me to confirm a time before booking. The Monday afternoon session time will be at Flinders Park, the other sessions are at Port Adelaide.
